Overview:  The GBC P210e is an electric Proclick binding machine that was released by GBC as part of their 2008 product line.Thismachine is very similar to the new GBC P110 but includes a medium dutyelectric binding punch to make punching your documents easier than ever.TheP210E includes GBC's new guide right technology to help eliminatemispunches by ensuring that your documents are perfectly centered andfully inserted into the punch every time.For organizationsthat want an electric binding punch to use with Proclick but don't wantto spend the money for the automatic inserting features offered by theP3000 this is an excellent choice.    Strengths / Features:  TheP210E includes a push button activated punching mechanism that iscapable of punching up to fifteen sheets of paper at a time. Like theP110 this machine produces a 3:1 pitch hole pattern with large roundholes.

These round holes make inserting the Proclick spines easy andprovide an elegant and contemporary look for your reports andpresentations.On the top of the Proclick P210E there are aset of hooks. These hooks are designed to hold your Proclick bindingspine while you hang the pages of your document onto the spine. All youneed to do is insert your spine onto the hooks and then hang you pagesonto the binding element as you punch them. This is a great feature andit helps to making inserting the pages a whole lot easier than tryingto do this by hand.The new GBC guide right technology usedby this machine helps to ensure that you correctly load and center yourpages into the punch every time.

This machine has a sliding documenttray that allows you to slide your document into place making sure thatit is correctly aligned, centered and fully inserted into the punchingthroat. This helps to reduce mispunches and can save you a lot of moneyin ruined documents.One of the great things about a Proclickbinding system is the ability to edit the finished documents. Every boxof GBC Proclick binding spines comes with a convenient zipper tool thatis designed for opening and closing your bound presentations. You canuse this tool to open your report, add or remove pages and then torebind the report all without the need for a binding machine.Thethree to one pitch hole pattern used by this machine is also compatiblewith special 3:1 pitch spiral coil. This coil is available in more thansixty colors and about twenty different sizes. However, it will have tobe inserted by hand and you will need to invest in a pair of oval holespiral coil crimping pliers. These pliers should crimp the holessufficiently so that the coil doesn't spin back off your bounddocuments.   

Weaknesses / Limitations:  Thesizes and colors of binding supplies available for use with thismachine are fairly limited. GBC Proclick binding spines are availablein three different sizes: 5/16" (small), 1/2" (medium) and 5/8"(large). Unfortunately there are no supplies in sizes larger than 5/8".The number of colors that are available for binding with this machineare also limited. Users must choose between Black, Navy Blue, White andFrost spines. Companies who want to bind other sizes and colors withthis machine will either need to order specialty 3:1 pitch spiral coilor will need to select a different binding machine.TheProclick P210E is designed for punching letter sized documents on theeleven inch side. Organizations that need a machine to bind half lettersheets, landscape documents, A4 or legal sheet sizes will find thatthis machine is not a good fit for their needs. The P210 can punch 11"x 8.5" sheets and 8.75" x 11.25" oversized covers. Attempting to use itto punch any other sizes will more than likely result in frustration.Althoughthis machine has an electric binding punch that can handle up tofifteen sheets of paper it should not be used to punch more than one ortwo clear covers or plastic sheets at a time. Attempting to punch astack of clear covers or poly sheets will quite likely ruin thepunching motor or dull the dies on the hole punch. Overpunching is notcovered under the one year warranty provided by GBC on this machine.   

Recommendation:  TheGBC P210e is one of the least expensive 3:1 pitch electric punchingmachines available on the market and is ideal for small and mediumsized organizations that need to bind documents with Proclick.This machine is easy to use and offers some great features such as the guide right document table and the Proclick spine hanger.However,this machine is not designed for high volume applications, largedocuments or custom document sizes.
